Spray and stretch treatment targets localised muscle and myofascial pain. Longer integrated sessions combine it with deeper recovery work.
When it is considered
- Myofascial pain with clear trigger points that reproduce your symptoms on movement
- Acute or sub-acute muscle pain in the neck, trapezius, lower back or gluteal region
- Restricted movement caused by muscle tension rather than joint contracture
How a session runs
- The doctor identifies the region and the target muscles.
- Trigger points, movement and range of motion are assessed.
- Cooling spray is applied while the muscle is held in stretch.
- Pain and movement are reassessed afterwards.
How it differs from manual therapy
Manual therapy is prescribed for confirmed functional limitation under managed-benefit rules. Spray and stretch is a separate non-covered treatment for localised muscle and myofascial pain. The two are charged and recorded separately.

Common questions
Is this the same as a massage?
No. It is a prescribed treatment aimed at specific trigger points identified at examination, and it is recorded as a medical treatment.
How long does a session take?
Around 10 minutes for a single region and 15 for two. The integrated recovery sessions run 25 or 55 minutes.
Can I have it together with shockwave therapy?
They are separate treatments. Whether both are appropriate on the same day is decided at the examination.
