- Current medication and previous experience with weight-management treatment
- Contraindications, likely side effects and follow-up needs
Medication and follow-up
Whether medication is appropriate, and at what dose, is decided by the doctor. Treatment is not a single prescription — response, side effects and ongoing suitability have to be reviewed over time, and lifestyle work runs alongside it.
It requires regular follow-up appointments, so it is not suitable for short-term visitors. If you are in Korea briefly, please continue this treatment with your own doctor at home.
Costs
Medication is a non-covered item and prices are posted at the clinic and on the Korean price page. We do not publish medication prices in this section, because the medication and dose are decided at the consultation and not before it.
Where knee or lower back pain and body weight are both part of the picture, the two are assessed together. Pain treatment is covered under spine & joint care.
Common questions
Can anyone receive weight-management medication?
No. Suitability is assessed from your weight, BMI, existing conditions and current medication, and it is not appropriate for everyone.
Can I get a prescription on a single visit as a visitor?
No. This treatment requires follow-up, so it is offered to patients who can attend regularly in Korea.
Are there side effects?
Gastrointestinal effects and other reactions can occur, depending on the person and the medication. Tell the doctor about your existing conditions and current medication before starting.
